Avalar Austin Real Estate

About Fidel Ebon

I was born in San Diego, CA and moved around multiple times as a Military Brat, but Austin is now home.

After High School I joined the US Army and my wife of 15 years, Erica and I bought our first home in Enterprise, AL. This is where our one and only son Jordan was born.

While serving in the Army, I studied to be an Air Traffic Controller. As many have also said before me, ATC was quite stressful at times. I loved the excitement, but after 17 years and three home purchases, I wanted to entertain the idea of making a career change into real estate. I have always been fascinated with Architecture, and how people can turn blue prints to reality. Overall the number one reason for the career change was the work at your own pace structure of the entire market.

Coming back to Texas was a big deal for my family and I. We wanted good schools, activities, and we absolutely had to be in a place where short-term rentals were allowed and did well. Austin was a perfect fit, yet affordability was a problem. That being said, we chose Dripping Springs for its country feel and close proximity to Austin, in addition to the many great activities that the Dripping Springs area has to offer. One year after purchasing our home nestled in the wedding capital of Texas, we decided it was time to dive head first into the short term rental market (STR).

After almost two years in the market and over 10,000 guests hosted, my wife and I needed to make some changes in our life to free up some time to manage our listings. That being said, becoming a Real Estate agent became more and more appealing, and the normal 9-5 which took me away from my family to some of the most remote parts of the world to make ends meet, had to come to an end to make room for our new chapter.

I attended the Austin Institute of Real Estate and and am now a proud agent for Avalar Austin and look forward to serving the Austin MSA in this time of tremendous growth and change to the beautiful city of Austin I call home.
